Home for a Socially Active Couple: The Black House by Andres Remy Architects

Designed as a home for a socially active couple, the Black House by Andres Remy Architects is located in a closed neighborhood 30km away from Buenos Aires with spectacular views to a lake. The house is divided, by a shallow pool, into two social areas. Common areas, such as the kitchen and dining room in one side, on the other side is located the living room, closer to the lake.
The shallow pool allows the indirect light to bathe the interiors, as the sun reflect it’s light on the water surface. Both areas in the house are connected by a glass bridge with the water running under your feet. The living room opens to the exterior using glass walls.
The first floor follows the same design concept of differencing areas. At the front are located the bedrooms for the future children and the main bedroom as a bridge that joining the two areas in the lower floor.
